Sensory Sundays

As a centre we always aim to help the community we serve in any way possible.

Centre Management and many of our retailers have recently undergone an amazing awareness training session by a dementia friends champion to help us understand some of the challenges faced by people who are living with dementia, autism or other sensory issues whilst shopping. With this in mind the centre will be introducing Sensory Sundays which will be held on the last Sunday in each month.

We hope to introduce some small changes such as requesting the stores to reduce the volume of their music in store and security and cleaning staff that have undergone the training will be available to assist wherever possible. We really hope that this day will help and we hope to involve some of our community as a focus group to feedback any of the issues they find which make shopping a challenge. If you would like to be involved in this please contact us for more information.
